Hello my fellow Rock 'N' Rollers!! There are many different venues to see live local and semi-local musicians and bands at this weekend.
Tonight (Fri.), kicks off a busy weekend for my friend DINO COLOROCCO. First off, he'll be performing as part of the HERD OF BLUES acoustic trio from 5-8pm in New Hope Pa. at the LOGAN INN located at 10 West Ferry St. Then secondly with his band DARKWATER beginning at 9:30pm at THE STICKY WICKET located at 2465 So. Broad St. in Hamilton NJ. Third, he'll be playing along side of Mike Matisa at Katmandu at a benefit (please see further down the column).
Saturday, former ROCK ON RADIO guest and recording artist MELISSA CHILL will be performing both Saturday 7/10 in Red Bank NJ at the DOWN TOWN CAFE from 6-10pm., and on Sunday 7/11 from 1:30-5pm on the beach in Asbury Park NJ at The BEACH BAR. I've had the pleasure of being on the same bill with her as well as interviewing her on my radio program; both were an extreme pleasure. http://www.melissachill.com/
Also performing on 7/10 and making her "virgin voyage" at the MILKBOY ACOUSTIC CAFE is the fabulous SHELI AARDEN! This singer/songwriter who currently hails from the Jersey shore area, entered the original/indie scene only a few years back, but has created quite the stir. Check her out Sat. night at 7pm at MILKBOY; which is located in Bryn Mawr Pa. at 824 West Lancaster Ave. If you miss this show, she'll be performing again on 7/13 as the "featured artist" at STUDIO LULOO located at 916 White Horse Pike in Oaklyn NJ. Showtime at this event is 7:30pm. www.reverbnation.com/sheliaarden
Not to be outdone by these two lovely and fantastic performers; I'll be performing on percussion along with JO WYMER and the ITTY BITTY BAND from 6-9pm on Main St. in Freehold NJ at the GAZEBO. JO is also going to be my guest on this week's ROCK ON RADIO which airs live at 10pm est. on http://www.wifi1460am.com/ and multiple other outlets.
Sunday 7/11 local favorite and past ROCK ON RADIO guest KEITH MONACCHIO will be headlining a benefit concert for THE GIFT OF LIFE FOUNDATION beginning at 1pm at KATMANDU in Trenton NJ. Also on the bill are Manchester NJ band the ROUSTABOUTS and former radio show alumni MIKE MATISA & DINO COLOROCCO. Tickets are $15 and may be purchased at the door. KATMANDU is located at 50 Riverview Executive Park which runs parallel between Rte. 29 South and the mighty Delaware River.
Topping the weekend off, I'll be playing along with AGENCY bassist MIKE THOMPSON as the rhythm section for KIM YARSON and THE VOLUNTEERS. KIM will be performing at 5pm on the big stage at FREEDOM FEST in Allentown NJ. This is the last night of this five day event which takes place in THE HORSE PARK of NJ. Easily accessible off of Rte. 195 HORSE PARK has plenty of parking and a farm like atmosphere. This is also the state's Agricultural Fair.
So, there it is....some local....some not so local....but as always......ROCK ON!
